So I started getting back into SPN, after not really following it from S3 onwards, but I've watched up through the first few eps of S5 now, and...

Don't worry, Cas. You know the show, EVERYONE is doomed. (Including me, apparently. I mean, I've held out, well, I think, for years now, but the SPN fic is a-coming, despite all my plans to the contrary).

Seriously, Castiel, stop staring at me with all your puzzled confusion/ perma-bedhead/ adorable awkwardness. Much as I hate to say it, you're going to have to WAIT. I've got Jensen and Cougar in limbo right now, and even with all your angel-y powers, you don't want to see them angry. Then there's the Firefly fic I *still* haven't fleshed out, yet, which is so late it's killing me.

And really, I think it's best that you enjoy what time you have left. You're probably not going to enjoy what I'm about to put you through. In the meantime, I suggest you go get all up in Dean's personal space, as near as you want, seriously, nobody here minds, and try to enjoy yourself while you still can.
